Artist Sandra Vick loves to bake and on her current quest to keep her sourdough starter active, she is trying out lots of recipes that use the discard. This one was inpired by a recipe that was shared on the Sourdough discard group on Facebook. The original recipe was in US measurements and was made with coffee instead of hotchocolate - Sandra has adapted it to suit her family (it is well known in her family that she sees a recipe as inspiration and never follows a recipe). The original recipe was called Little Grammy's Chocolate cake and used slightly different ingredients. Sadly the origins of the recipe are lost in the midst of facebook group comments - I'll update this when i find the lovely lady who shared this gorgeous recipe!
